DON'T LET HIM IN Revive Guide: Totem vs. Paid Revive Compared

Every way to come back from death in DON'T LET HIM IN: how the free Revive Totem works, what the paid Robux revive covers, and what happens if nobody revives you.

Dying in DON'T LET HIM IN doesn't end your night — it hands your team a choice. Two revival routes are confirmed in the game: the free Revive Totem, found lying in the world and carried by a surviving teammate, and a paid revive the game offers in Robux when no totem is around. Both end the same way, with the dead player alive again. If nobody revives you, you keep playing as a ghost instead. Here's how each route works and which one to reach for when someone drops.

How coming back works

When a player dies, the game doesn't restore them on its own — revival is something the team does. The fallen player asks, and one of the two routes answers. In one recorded session a revived player's immediate reaction said it all: "Buhay pala ako" — "I'm actually alive." Whoever went down comes back into the round as a living player again, able to run, hide, and work on survival with the group.

Route 1: the free Revive Totem

The Revive Totem costs nothing. It spawns lying in the world, and a living player picks it up and carries it. One group spotted theirs on the floor mid-run — "Look, there's a totem right here. All right. I'll take you" — and carted it around while the monster hunted them. Interacting with it while everyone is still alive teaches you its purpose: the totem answers that there is "nobody to bring back," which is how one carrier realized they "could revive somebody who dies."

The trigger is simple: when a teammate dies, the totem carrier can bring that specific player back. One carrier put it plainly while planning the rescue — "I can revive Saxon when we got that back" — and the revived player confirmed the result right after.

The catch is that a totem doesn't stay where you found it, and each one appears to be good for one rescue. After a use, that same group had to search all over again: "We need to find the totem again. Is it back in the pantry? Oh, it's not. Oh, it's outside." Totems have been seen or reported near the pantry, outside the house, and in a shed — but don't treat those as a guaranteed set. In one run, the shed wouldn't open at all, leaving the players to conclude the shed was "just for decoration" with the totem possibly inside.

Route 2: the paid revive (Robux)

When a revive is needed and no totem is available, the game answers with money. One player tried to arrange a second revival and realized, "Oh, no, that costs Robux." The purchase prompt reads: "Revive all fallen teammates. Buy the totem for 24." That makes it the opposite of the totem in scope — one purchase covers every dead teammate at once, at the price of 24 Robux, the only price the prompt has been seen showing.

The gate is the buyer's wallet. In one session, a dead player pleaded "Can you revive me now?" and got the answer "I don't have that." A team with no Robux to spend is back to hunting totems.

If nobody revives you: the ghost state

Death without a revive doesn't bench you — you continue as a ghost. What you lose is your voice: "I can't speak in the game, bro. It's because I'm a ghost, man," one player complained while trying to warn teammates about the monster. What you keep is surprising utility. Ghosts can move around, open doors for the living ("You can just open doors, I guess"), and even hunt for a totem on the team's behalf — one dead player volunteered, "I can be a ghost. Wait, I can try to look for one for you guys," and another ghost's find earned a grateful "Thanks, Saxon's ghost." Ghost powers have quirks, though: one ghost found they could only open a single door "for some reason."

Choosing your route

When someone dies, work the free option first: check whether anyone is carrying a totem, and send ghosts searching while survivors check the corners where totems have shown up before. If no totem turns up and the body count is climbing, the Robux prompt is the only other confirmed way back — and it brings the whole team back in one go.

For the totem's spawns, carrying details, and use in depth, see the dedicated DON'T LET HIM IN revive totem page. And since every revive is a second chance you'd rather not need, knowing the DON'T LET HIM IN monsters keeps your team off the floor in the first place.
